As one year closes....

I hope that when everyone reads this they think long and hard about the year they had. If you have any mistakes that you made or any apologies to be made FIX them. As this year closes I am reminded at how awful I have treated my family at times. I know I need to fix the mistake, and I am taking the first step: Acknowledgement. I am not however going to make it a new year's resolution to fix it, cause if I mess up I will feel twice as bad. I am though going to make a commitment to try and not do it this year. I hope that as the new year comes upon us everyone stops and thinks about the year that they had!!

Trip to Mobile

Well so far the trip to Mobile has been an experience I will never forget. Daniel is such a good boy when we are traveling. He knows that if he is good and not crying all the time that we will soon be to our destination. We started out our trip to Mobile late because I could not get Josh to wake up. Instead of leaving at 7 a.m. we left at 8:30 a.m. Which put us getting into Mobile around 9 p.m. It made for a long drive.

Daniel was a good kid for most of the trip. He got reallly figety the last hour of the trip. His booty was going to sleep and he did not know what it was.

We are having so much fun visiting Josh's family. They all want to see how big Daniel has gotten. It is hard to believe that our little boy is now 3. He turned 3 on the 13th of this month. I hope to post pictures as soon as we get home to our computers. Will try to post more later.

Josh sent this as an email update

I thought I would let everyone know how things have been going.

Christina, Daniel and I are all doing well. Christina is tired and ready for school to be out. She has been undergoing a great deal of dental work. They are pulling some teeth, fillings, corns and dentures.

Daniel will be 3 in December. He is still trying to get the hang of this potty training stuff. He has been talking a lot and singing: Jesus loves me, the B-I-B-L-E, the wheels on the bus. He is really excited about Christmas and loves Christmas trees. He has already opened one of his gifts and we rewrapped it.

We are approaching the final weeks of our fall semester at ABC. I have learned many great things about God, the Bible, myself, American history, speech, grammar and missions; however, I am a little disappointed in myself this semester, because I have not worked as hard as I have in the past. I have sat under, I believe, one of the greatest professors so far in my college experience. She has taught me so much and has been a great challenge to me in my spiritual life.

We recently joined Tabernacle Baptist Church, which is where we feel is going to be a great place to worship, grow and serve. The pastor and his family are wonderful examples to all. His sermons are powerful, challenging and thought provoking and he loves the lost and has a vision. He has been on several mission trips to help train national pastors in India. Most importantly they pray for and support our ministries.

My family and I have been holding worship services at Eden Terrace Assistant Living Home for about six months. We have thoroughly enjoyed this ministry and have seen a lot of fruit. We have an average of 10-15 in attendance each week and have seen at least one profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I preached a sermon called,"The self-righteous Pharisee and the humble publican" and challenged them to come to me after the service and tell me if they had trust Jesus as their savior. After there service, Gene, one of the faithful ladies came to me and told me that she had trusted Jesus as her personal savior.

This work is challenging physically, spiritually and emotionally. A few residents are in their mid to late nineties and a few are 100. Some of them have Alzheimer or Dementia and are slowing losing their memory. It is painful to build relationships with them and then watch them slowly go down hill. I have learned so much about God, the Bible, preaching and evangelism in these past six months.

We are planning to be in Mobile, Alabama to visit family friends from December 12-22. Please pray that God would open the door for us to go and that he will keep us safe as we travel.

Oh Turkey day Oh Turkey day!! Oh wait, we eat HAM!!!!

Well today was Thanksgiving, and as usual we celebrated it with my family. My mom makes the Ham, Stuffing, Mashed and Fried Potatoes. I make the deviled eggs, dessert, veggie, sweet potatoe and green bean casserole, and this year brought the rolls. All in all it was a good day. It was definitely a time to be thankful!! We have so much to be thankful for. Josh has awesome health, I have a wonderful husband and a healthy little boy. Please pray for my mom as she broke her pinky toe this morning. I am posting just a few photos of Thanksgiving as I did not get to take very many. We will be in Mobile the 12-22 hope to see everyone there!!

Update on photos.

I thought I would let everyone see some updated photos of us. I haven't taken any photos until recently due to not knowing where our camera Charger was. Here are just a few. I am posting another one with photos of Thanksgiving. Love ya'll!!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I have awesome, great tremendous news... I found my battery charger to my camera, BEFORE Daniel's 3rd birthday and before Christmas. I am soo happy. God is so good... and on that note I must say that a teacher of mine at school showed our class these verses I Peter 2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.

Whether you were a McCain voter or an Obama voter it makes no difference now. Obama is our newly elected president, and according to my bible we must be into sumission to them except when it goes contrary to what our Bible tells us. I guess when that happens we will be martyered. But anywho.. I hope that everyone is doing great!! We love and miss everyone...

Great news!

Sunday Josh and I joined a great Bible Teaching Independent Fundamental Baptist Church. We joined Tabernacle Baptist Church here is Arlington. We are so excited to finally be able to enjoy going to church and to see what the Lord has in store for us. Pray for us as we seek to do His will and His work at this church.

Update!

I know it has been awhile since I posted on here, but I thought I would update everyone and tell them how we are doing. Daniel is finally getting the hang of Potty training!! THANK GOD!!! He is now sitting on the toliet and will grunt and "toot" and say look! let me see! He thinks he has gone poo poo it is hilarious, but I thank the Lord that he is finally getting the hang of things. He now only wears a diaper at night and at nap time. That is usually when he goes poo poo. I will post pictures when I find my charger cord. That is all for now! Love you guys!

Something Funny!!

I have just have to tell you guys what happened to us last night at church. We were running LATE as USUAL for the Busby family. It seems that we can never be on time for anything. But that is not what I am writing to tell you about, so let me get on with it. We had just arrived at church, and I locked all the doors to the van for some strange reason, and then proceeded to get out of the car,to let Josh and Daniel out, and had left my keys in the van. Yeah left them in the van. So here I am all of 5 feet tall, and my husband and son are locked in the van with no way out. So I went into the church kinda in shock and a daze and managed to tell someone that they were locked in the van. They proceeded to try to get them out, found a sliding window about 3 feet wide and 1 foot tall. They went inside and got a little kid and he climed in the window and unlocked it. So I guess you could say that the Lord was definitely on our side that night. We are so blessed to be a part of a church that has such loving members! ;) That is all for now....

Update

I thought I would let everyone know a blessing that the Lord has allowed to happen for me, it is also a prayer request. I will be getting my teeth fixed for good over the next couple of months. Because of the deterioration of my teeth all of my teeth but 7 on the bottom will have to be pulled. So far I have had 6 taken out and that was not too bad, it is the healing part that is giving me problems. Because I am unable to do alot of chewing. Once all the teeth are out I will have a full upper denture, and a partial on the bottom. They will fill the bottom teeth and I will hope and pray that I am able to keep the bottom ones from deteriorating more. Please pray and rejoice with me as I will no longer be in pain, but for me to be 24 almost 25 and have dentures has taken its toll emotionally on me. We love ya'll!!

Hi!

Well I finally decided to try a new way to communicate with our families. Josh and I are doing great, we are in our 2nd year of College and man is it a challenge. We are taking basic courses this semester: History I, Remedial English, Missions (This will count as an elective) and Speech. In case anyone has not heard, I will be a school teacher. Just have to go about it a different way.

Currently we are still trying to potty train Daniel, but as most mom's out there who have had a boy know, it is tough training little boys. Daniel is very very stubborn. Gets that from his daddy ;-).

All in all the Busby's are doing well, we love everyone and miss them!! Keep us in your prayers as you will be in ours when we think of you!!
